Shelter
Rose was brought to the shelter and her founder’s reported they had picked her up on the side of the highway, but staff was not confident that this was the truth. She was very pregnant and based on her scars, she may have been used as a bait dog. Wags and Walks immediately stepped in to rescue Rose. Four days later, when she knew she was safe, Rose gave birth to a litter of healthy puppies.
Vet Visit
Although Rose’s old injuries had healed, she has several masses that require additional medical care. The masses require removal to ensure they are not cancerous, but it was safest to wait until her puppies had been weaned to perform the mass removal procedure.
Rose has been a devoted mother to her puppies, and now the time has come to remove all of her lumps and bumps, in addition to being spayed.
Despite the scary things that happened to Rose before she was rescued, the team at Wags shared that she is the definition of a lazy, happy hippo who is fantastic with dogs of all sizes. Her tail does not stop wagging and she simply could not be more perfect.
