Momma Pod and her 6-week-old babies, named Fava, Chick, Lentil and Mung, were rescued from Baldwin Park Animal Shelter. At the time of rescue, this very sweet family appeared to be healthy.

Upon intake, it was determined that Momma Pod and all of her puppies were overrun with ringworm. They had begun treatment when the puppies started showing signs of illness. Their symptoms included chronic diarrhea, nasal discharge, extreme lethargy, and lack of appetite.

The puppies underwent diagnostics and all tested positive for parvovirus, a commonly fatal illness for young unvaccinated dogs. They require around the clock supportive care to get better.

Despite being overwhelmed with illness, Momma Pod and her baby beans have been extremely brave throughout this entire ordeal.
