Shelter
Libby was picked up as a stray, lost in a field, by animal control. She was not microchipped and no one came for her at the shelter. Thankfully, Wags and Walks learned about this sweet one-year-old pit bull who needed rescue.
Staff at Wags fell in love with her immediately. Her intake notes included, “she is the BEST, such a ham, loves everyone, constantly rolling over for belly rubs. Obsessed with her.”
Unfortunately, Libby developed a significant limp shortly after she was rescued.
Vet Visit
Libby immediately visited the orthopedist, who determined that she likely suffered an injury when she was younger. Unfortunately, physical therapy is not enough to address her diagnosis and she is in need of a femoral head ostectomy (FHO), which is a surgical procedure to restore mobility and relieve pain to the damaged hip.
If untreated, Libby’s pain and lack of mobility will only increase over time. The surgery will allow her to be a happy, pain-free pup.
