Shelter
We had the privilege of joining the team at One Tail at a Time in rescuing four dogs from the Chicago Animal Care Center (CACC), the largest municipal shelter in the Midwest. In 2023, over 5,000 dogs entered this single shelter. These dogs are at risk for euthanasia at any time due to overcrowding. The shelter relies on direct adoption and transfers to rescues to reduce the shelter population.
We are thrilled to introduce you to Corsen, Alfalfa, Froggy and Lulu. The majority of this group is suffering from kennel cough, an airborne virus commonly found in the shelter system. This upper respiratory virus can evolve into pneumonia which is life-threatening. Despite their need for ongoing care, OTAT welcomed them into their program.
Vet Visit
The whole crew has had their preliminary visits to the vet for treatment. They will need ongoing care for their upper respiratory issues in addition to all basic care services, including: microchip, vaccines, spay or neuter procedures, deworming, flea/tick treatment and preventative.
