Shelter
Noah was brought to Kilhttps://15outof10.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/slide-2-test-1.jpgn Animal Services after being hit by a car. This is a high-volume, open-intake shelter, meaning they are required to house strays and owner surrenders. Dogs like Noah are at immediate risk for euthanasia due to limited resources. Thankfully, Austin Humane Society was contacted and immediately said yes to this handsome boy.
Vet Visit & Surgery
Noah was immediately examined by the medical team at AHS. X-rays revealed that both bones in his front leg had snapped. He underwent surgery right away to ensure proper healing. Although the injury was severe and extremely painful, the break was clean and successfully repaired with a plate and several screws. Noah will need weekly splint changes for the next four weeks while remaining on activity restrictions, after which he can gradually return to normal activity. He is currently on multiple pain medications and a mild sedative to help keep him comfortable and calm during these first weeks of recovery.
