Forrest

Forrest was adopted on February 11, 2022! His forever home is a men’s sober living community. They absolutely adore him. We were sent these images with the caption “recovery for all” ❤️‍???? We will continue to cover any and all medical bills related to his leg injuries, the original reason he was unlikely to make it out of the shelter. You can read his entire story below.

Shelter

We heard about a large wolf dog in need at South LA Animal Shelter and we knew we had to help. Forrest was brought in as a stray who had been hit by a car. He’s very wobbly and only has one side to support himself with. He’s been in the shelter since January 31 on major pain medications for his leg injuries. Due to his expensive price point for medical care, he’s a scary case for rescues. He’s totally adoptable aside from these injuries which makes him a perfect dog for us. ♥

Freedom Ride

Forrest happily wobbled across the parking lot, his right ear flopping with every step. He was very cooperative getting into the car and settling down, although he couldn’t decide if he wanted to lay down and enjoy the ride or sit up and look out the window.

Vet Visit

During his vet visit, Forrest was as sweet as could be and let the vet do whatever he needed. It was as if he understood exactly what was going on and checked to make sure the vet was looking at the correct legs. It was confirmed that he has a fractured bone in his front right leg and a torn CCL in his back right leg. Today, he’s scheduled to have surgery to repair his fractured leg and will have surgery for the torn ligament in his back leg once his front leg has healed. We’ll keep everyone pupdated.
