Rescue
Forbin arrived as a stray at Austin Pets Alive! and was later transferred to OTAT Chicago to give him the best chance at finding his forever home.
After arriving at his foster home on Friday evening, Forbin began showing signs of extreme discomfort and abdominal bloating by Monday morning. His foster mom immediately reached out to the rescue, and he was quickly rushed to the emergency vet.

Vet Visit & Surgery
Upon arriving at the vet, Forbin underwent several diagnostic tests. It was quickly determined that he was suffering from bloat, a life-threatening condition in which the stomach twists. Without immediate surgical intervention, bloat is fatal. Thankfully, Forbin was rushed into surgery within the hour, saving his life.
Forbin is now recovering and will require ongoing care to monitor his healing.
His rescue has shared with us that “he is such a sweet dog and loves his people and being close to them. He has so much personality. He loves to play with his toys but also enjoys just hanging on the couch. This guy is extremely adaptable and happy-go-lucky, and whoever takes him home will be so so lucky!”
