Chicagoland Rescue Intervention and Support Program
This is the 15/10 Foundation’s first time working with One Tail at a Time’s CRISP – the Chicagoland Rescue Intervention and Support Program. The program helps Chicago pet owners keep their pets rather than surrendering them to the shelter due to issues like expensive veterinary bills.
This is Xena. Her owner rescued her from a bad situation and now has an incredibly loving owner. Unfortunately, their working hours got cut back due to COVID, so money was tight for them. When Xena developed an ear hematoma, her owner worried he’d have to surrender her because they couldn’t afford to pay the expensive veterinary bill.

Medical Issues
Xena has an ear hematoma, which means she has blood accumulating in her ear that needs specific surgery to drain and prevent from happening again. Thanks to One Tail at a Time’s CRISP and the 15/10 Foundation members, Xena can get the medical attention she needs and not have to worry about where she’ll end up next. She’ll go right back to her devoted owner and recover where she deserves to – at home.
