CONTENT WARNING: animal cruelty
Sudi is from Iran where she lived as a farm dog. She had responsibilities to keep livestock and predators away, and when she “failed” to perform those responsibilities, she was brutally punished. Her owner cut off her front legs and dragged her behind their vehicle. Not only did she lose her front legs, but her hind leg and hips were severely broken. Luckily, Sudi’s story didn’t end there.
A kind person rescued Sudi from the farm, and they worked very hard to move her out of Iran until she arrived in the U.S. at Homeward Trails Animal Rescue. Despite the unfathomable abuse she has endured, Sudi remains a loving and friendly dog.
Vet Visit
Since her arrival, Sudi has had several vet appointments to determine the extent of her injuries. X-rays revealed how severely damaged her hips are, and a total hip replacement is her best chance at regaining full mobility in her hind end. Her rescuer in Iran took great care of her front legs so they could heal. She’s been fitted for custom prosthetics for her front legs, which she’s getting around very well in. She even received a certificate for becoming an official Bionic Pet! Next steps are total hip replacement and front wheels to give her optimal mobility.
Foster
Sudi is staying in a foster home while she awaits her total hip replacement procedure, and will return there to heal, but she’s actively available for adoption! When she arrived to the States, she was understandably shut down. As she’s spent time with her foster family, she has blossomed and proved how much she loves and trusts humans, despite her horrific past. Sudi is looking for a forever home where she is an only pet. She promises to provide her humans a lifetime of love and snuggles.
