Shelter
Shirley came to One Tail at a Time in Chicago as a stray with two very broken front legs. Despite the incredible amount of pain she must have been in, she’s been nothing but sweet and loving to everyone around her. Her legs required immediate attention and she was scheduled for surgery to get her legs set and in casts to heal properly.

Vet Visit
Shirley underwent successful orthopedic surgery for bilateral fractured front legs. She’s in medical foster while her legs heal up. She requires weekly evaluations of her progress as well as frequent cast changes. Thankfully neither leg had to be amputated and she’s expected to make a full recovery with the help of physical therapy.

Foster
“Shirley is legit the sweetest, wiggliest, friendliest dog on the planet, even with two casted front legs. Oh my gosh she would crawl into your skin if she could, such a cuddler,” said the folks at One Tail at a Time. She’s lapping up all the attention in her medical foster home and is still a happy, cuddly pup despite her limited mobility with casted legs. Once her casts come off, she’ll be looking for her forever home!
