Rocky, a nearly 10-year-old lab mix, was found tied to a tree after his family moved away without him. He was brought to a shelter in Atlanta, GA where it was discovered that he was suffering from a heart condition, in addition to advanced heartworms. Thankfully, One Tail at a Time stepped in to save him.

Upon arrival, Rocky required an emergency procedure to remove the 2 liters of fluid that had built up in his abdomen. Not only is Rocky battling a nasty case of heartworms, he has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure causing severe heart enlargement. It is imperative that Rocky has ongoing visits with his cardiologist, to ensure that his heart can return to a healthy size before starting heartworm treatment.

Despite his serious health conditions, Rocky is the sweetest senior gentleman. He is kind and loving to everyone he meets, and he has a particular fondness for children and cats. We’ll keep everyone pupdated on his progress.
