Shelter
For reasons unknown, sweet Peep the bulldog was dumped at a high-kill shelter. Luckily, our rescue partner Wags and Walks was able to pull her from the shelter and give her a second chance before it was too late. As a result of unethical breeding, she is genetically predisposed to health and breathing issues. The team at Wags and Walks fell in love with Peep, citing her love for attention, her stubborn personality, but assure us she’s an overall “A+ gal.”

Vet Visit
Peep was experiencing very labored breathing. What was originally thought to just be “normal” bulldog breathing issues turned out to be pneumonia, for which she was hospitalized in urgent care. She was given treatment during her stay, and she was showing signs of improvement, until her health took a turn and developed into bronchitis. Her medical issues have worsened and she now regurgitates everything she eats and drinks, resulting in returning aspiration pneumonia.

The severity of her condition led to Peep being placed on oxygen support as she is unable to breathe on her own. Once she has recovered from her cyclical pneumonia, she will need airway surgery to help her breathe better, and give her a chance at a full and healthy life.
