Chickpea

Little Chickpea was adopted in June of 2022. She now has an older sibling she likes to boss around and loves to be on the couch. As she gets older, it’ll be easier to determine how her eye is functioning, but for now she’s a happy, healthy puppy.

Shelter
When she arrived at the shelter, Chickpea was just a tiny, 8-week-old dirty fluff ball with an eye that was swollen shut. The doctors didn’t even know if she had an eye under all the goop.

Vet Visit
The vet cleaned out her eyeball, prescribed antibiotics and eye drops to treat the swelling, and gave her all the necessary vaccines. Over time the swelling went down and there was, in fact, an eyeball! It’s unclear if she’s able to see out of it or not, but now that the eye is exposed, we will determine if it can stay as it is or if it needs to be removed.

Foster
Chickpea is healing up in the loving care of her foster family!

Adopted!
Little Chickpea was so beloved by her fosters that they adopted her! Chickpea has an older sibling who she loves to boss around. She is small, but mighty! And mightily loved.
