Buffy arrived at the local animal care and control with signs of extreme neglect: heavily matted fur with dry feces stuck to it, and several large masses on her chest and paw. Before putting her on the euthanasia list, the ACC contacted our rescue partner, Angels for Mistreated Animals, because they work with severe medical cases. The rescue took her in immediately.

After getting Buffy a much needed trim, vets took a closer look at her condition. In addition to the obvious mass on her chest, they discovered multiple tumors along her mammary glands. The best course of action is to remove the tumors from her chest, as well as the painful, protruding tumor on her paw. They will then be biopsied to determine if they are cancerous.

Despite her terrible condition, Buffy revealed her goofy personality to everyone who came in contact with her. It’s clear how much love she has for people, and she is deserving of a home that loves her just as much back. We’ll keep you pupdated on her recovery journey.
